2024 Honda Pilot TrailSport, Specs, Release Date – The Honda Pilot, one of the best-selling SUVs in the midsize class and a standout in terms of utility, is back for another generation in 2024, and it comes standard with more amenities than ever before. The LX and EX model levels of the 2024 Honda Pilot have been discontinued and replaced with the Pilot Sport and TrailSport. In addition, the 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and LED headlights are now included as standard equipment.
The 2024 Honda Pilot is a hit or miss for many people since it reminds them too much of the Odyssey minivan. Despite a significant shakeup in the trim levels, Honda has left the Pilot’s most exceptional features alone for the new model year. Because of this, the Pilot still has a respectable towing capability of 5,000 pounds and a helpful payload volume of 16.5 cubic feet. Also, Honda has revealed that a new Pilot Special Edition will be available later this year. The Ford Explorer, Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander, Kia Telluride, and Hyundai Palisade are just some of the competitors the 2024 Pilot faces on the market.

2024 Honda Pilot TrailSport Redesign
There isn’t much to report, and we believe that the Honda Pilot’s outdated aesthetic is one of its most significant flaws. The Pilot is typical of Honda in that it is pretty functional, comes with a good set of standard equipment, and achieves good fuel efficiency, but it opts for a conservative design over a more modern one. The Pilot’s lackluster appearance and wagon-like side profile make it look less relaxed than rivals like the Kia Telluride. The Honda Pilot Black Edition has a bit more sass than the standard model, but we’re not sure that’s a good thing. However, a special edition trim level of the Pilot is available from Honda, and it comes standard with a pair of black alloy wheels in addition to the standard equipment. Standard across the board are LED low-beam headlights and LED foglights. All trim levels arrive standard with a power moonroof and power tailgate (hands-free above the EX-L level). The panoramic roof is standard on elite models. You can choose wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches, depending on the trim level.
While the 2024 Honda Pilot’s exterior design is uninspiring, the available paint hues are even less. We get that Honda wasn’t trying to make the Pilot a fashion plate, but with all the cool cars coming out of South Korea and abroad, the company might want to rethink its color palette. Fortunately, a wider variety of shades becomes accessible as you move up the scale. Crystal Black, Modern Steel, Lunar Silver, and Obsidian Blue are the six standard colors for the Pilot. Both Platinum White Pearl and Steel Sapphire Metallic are $395 premium hues. One more unique shade, Deep Scarlet, is available on the Touring and Elite, in addition to those already present on the EX-L. The standard colors for the Black Edition are Crystal Black and Platinum White. At the same time, the Special Edition has six hues between classic Crystal Black and Silver, Lunar Silver, Modern Steel, and the three premium hues.

Interior
Family-friendly features are available for the Pilot, such as an in-cabin PA system, and the cabin is roomy and functional. If you need to transport eight passengers, the standard second row in most trim levels is configured to seat three passengers abreast. The passenger capacity drops from eight to seven on more expensive versions due to the absence of a bench seat in favor of two captain’s chairs. Although the third row is roomy, the short seat cushion makes it impractical for anybody older than a child. The Pilot’s gauge cluster is easy to read, the air conditioning and heating controls are easy to understand, and there are 16 cupholders all over the inside.
The Pilot’s lofty sitting position and big windows, along with its thin, inconspicuous roof pillars, provide the driver with an unrivaled perspective of the road. This Honda’s enormous cargo room has many convenient storage compartments inside. The Elite and seven-seat Touring grades include a fixed second-row center console that reduces luggage space compared to the eight-seat layout while being among the roomiest SUVs in their class. The cargo floor can be removed and rearranged to give you more headroom or hide a hidden storage area.

Engine
The brand’s greatest asset is the reliable engine at every Honda’s heart. Improvements in efficiency and power have resulted from current design practices and ongoing development. The ZF 9-speed automatic transmission is now standard on the 2024 Honda Pilot, powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with natural aspiration. The SUV’s robust performance has impressed many with its production of roughly 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. An increase in acceleration from rest to 60 miles per hour may be possible if the SUV was longer, lower, and lighter.
The 2024 Honda Pilot has class-leading acceleration, going from zero to sixty miles per hour in around 6.2 seconds and covering the quarter mile in 14.8 seconds. Similar competitors like the Subaru Ascent and Toyota Highlander reach 60 mph in 6.9 and 7.2 seconds, respectively. The Pilot handles well for a small SUV, and the ride is comfortable for its passengers.
2024 Honda Pilot TrailSport Release Date and Price
The lowest, newly introduced Sport grade of the 2024 Honda Pilot has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $36,830, while the highest-end Pilot Black Edition costs $50,620. More information regarding the new Pilot model should become available before the end of 2024 when it is scheduled to go on sale.
