The Honda goes fast in town and on the highway, has a comfortable ride, and gets good gas mileage. Compared to the cabins of competing hybrid SUVs, the CR-V Hybrid’s level of refinement and space is awe-inspiring. All of the features you need, and more, are included in the price of the seat. There are times when interacting with the infotainment system feels like an uphill battle.
2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Redesign
While the latest generation of Honda’s CR-V SUV is a well-executed crossover, it barely qualifies as exciting. The new model is styled in a more manly fashion. Its blacked-out grille is framed by smaller headlamps that use a minimalist LED lighting signature. The design retains the current taillight clusters’ high mounting beside the back window. The 2024 model, on the other hand, has had the chrome beam that ran across the back eliminated for a more streamlined appearance. The license plate holder is now higher on the car, making it look more elegant.
Honda isn’t renowned for going crazy with exterior color options, but we don’t know what they have planned for the upcoming CR-V Hybrid. You can also count on seeing the standard white, black, and grey options, along with some darker blues and reds. There are apparent differences between the different trim levels. For example, the Sport and Sport Touring models have black accents on the grille that set them apart from the base model. The Sport trim’s 18-inch wheels are replaced by larger 19-inch wheels on the Sport Touring.
The interior of the CR-V Hybrid is sleek and attractive, with a lot of nice touches and materials. Those inside are protected from the wind and the sounds of the vehicle. You can fit a whole family in the CR-V Hybrid. Drivers have an excellent driving position, and the seats are well-padded for extended rides. Plenty of space is provided for both the driver and passengers. The Honda’s entertainment system can be a real pain to use. The touchscreen is sluggish, and the visuals aren’t as sharp as those on competing devices. Some of its features are also difficult to access while driving because they are buried in submenus. The only physical controls are the volume knob and the buttons on the steering wheel.
The seats in the brand new Honda CR-V Hybrid are likewise noteworthy. Honda claims that their new body-stabilizing hearts do more than make you sit straighter; they also reduce the time you feel tired. The new CR-interior V’s should be more comfortable, with more headroom and legroom for rear passengers. The quality of the materials is awe-inspiring. The Sport Touring has several nice touches, such as a metal honeycomb mesh over the dashboard and black or gray leather seats. In expansion, the Sport and Sport Touring hybrids have a black headliner with contrasting orange stitching.
The latest Honda CR-V Hybrid powerplant is a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder. The combined output from the gas engine and the two electric motors is 204 horsepower, with instantaneous torque of 247 lb-ft and a maximum engine speed of 2,000 revolutions per minute. Based on these numbers, we think it will take about 7.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, which is about the same as the old model. The Hybrid is the first to have a towing capacity, although a modest one of only a thousand pounds. Furthermore, hill descent control has been added for the first time, giving the vehicle more functionality. A bigger propulsion motor was made possible by putting the two electric motors next to each other. All-wheel drive is optional on the different versions but standard on the Sport Touring.
The current CR-V Hybrid achieves 40/35/38 mpg in the city/highway/combined, so the new one should do the same. It also has a range of well over 500 miles. There are currently no EPA ratings for the new CR-V Hybrid. The 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine in the standard, non-hybrid CR-V (which we reviewed separately) makes 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission.

The pricing of the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid has not yet been released, although it will likely be slightly higher than that of the current model. The base price of a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid is $32,010.
