2024 Honda CR-V AWD, Price, Colors – Inside and out, the Honda CR-V has undergone a complete makeover for 2024, giving it a fighting chance in the fiercely competitive compact-SUV market. The new CR-V aims to offer even more of its renowned utility with more significant dimensions and additional passenger room. Modern technology enhances its appealing interior design, including an infotainment system with a standard 9.0-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Every CR-V has various standard driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assistance. The basic engine is a 190-hp turbo-four; a 204-hp hybrid powertrain is an option. Both can be driven with either front- or all-wheel drive. Honda claims that the 2024 CR-V offers a more exciting and refined driving experience, but we won’t know for sure until we’ve driven one.
The sixth generation of the small SUV begins with the 2024 Honda CR-V. It brings many changes, including increased size, a new external appearance, and a roomier interior with more upscale amenities. Honda claims to have updated the continuously variable automatic gearbox (CVT), all-wheel-drive system, and standard turbo-four engine to make them more fast and efficient when compared to the outgoing model. The new CR-V should handle and ride better because its front and back tracks are more comprehensive, its structural parts are more substantial, and the suspension tuning has been improved.
2024 Honda CR-V Redesign
When redesigning the CR-V, Honda dived deep into cliché language to characterize it as “rugged and sophisticated.” The design does resemble the Ridgeline pickup and Passport TrailSport despite the unoriginal language. A shoulder line that spans the length of the body connects the massive grille to the LED headlights and a new L-shaped taillight cluster. The Sport and Sport Touring twins feature an aggressive bumper design with a gloss black mesh grille, while the EX and EX-L derivatives grilles are finished in gloss black with chrome surrounds. Rectangular exhausts are also added to the latter two to distinguish them further. A roof-mounted spoiler is standard on all trims, and it comes in matte and gloss black on the Sport and Sport Touring, respectively. The 19-inch split five-spoke alloy wheels on the Sport Touring are more significant than the 18-inch wheels on the three entry-level models.
Although the Honda CR-exterior V’s colors haven’t been officially announced, the launch model has been spotted sporting what seems to be a brand-new dark blue and two hues of gray. Expect the traditional hues of the Honda brand, red, black, and white, to join. Significant changes entail an overall larger vehicle in this situation. With a 1.6-inch larger wheelbase, the 2024 CR-proportions V’s have expanded by 2.7 inches in length. The revised design allows for a width increase of 0.4 inches. It has a total length of 184.8 inches, a wheelbase of 106.3 inches, a width of 73.4 inches, and a height of 66.6 inches. Even though we don’t know what the CR-weight V will be, we can assume that it will be a little heavier than its predecessor, which had a base weight of 3,337 pounds.
According to Honda, the new CR-V’s driving posture and front seats reduce driver fatigue on lengthy trips. The honeycomb-textured insert that covers most of the dash and subtly conceals the air vents is a feature of the CR-elegant V’s interior design. With an analog speedometer and a 7.0-inch display that enables the driver to choose between several informational menus, the gauge cluster is partially digital and is framed by the steering wheel. There is a sizable center console bin between the front-seat occupants, and behind them are reclining back seats with an increase in rear legroom of 0.6 inches over the previous CR-V. Behind the second row, there are 36 cubic feet of cargo capacity; on gas-only versions, with the adjustable load floor in the lowest setting, there are 39 cubic feet.
The EX and Sport trim versions of the CR-V include 7.0-inch touchscreens that control the infotainment system. Physical volume and tuning knobs, CarPlay, and Android Auto, are all included in the arrangement. The 9.0-inch touchscreen on the EX-L and Sport Touring models has cordless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The larger display lacks a tuning knob, but it does have a volume control for the integrated navigation system, two USB-C connections for the passengers in the backseat, and wireless smartphone charging. The top-tier CR-V Sport Touring must be purchased if you want the 12-speaker Bose audio system.
With this new generation of crossovers, Honda combines the standard and hybrid lines under the core CR-V brand. The base Honda CR-engine V’s is a 1.5-liter turbocharged Civic Si engine that has been tweaked for the EX and EX-L trim levels to provide 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. The latter has a more extensive range from 1,700 to 5,000 pm and reaches 300 rpm earlier. This engine is mated to front-wheel drive and a continuously variable gearbox. The engine size jumps to 2.0 liters in the Sport and Sport Touring, but the turbo is gone. The new two-motor side-by-side hybrid system is linked with the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Atkinson cycle motor. Based on the ISO net measurement, the system makes 247 lb-ft of torque and 204 horsepower. This is three more horsepower than the previous hybrid CR-V.
Except for the Sport Touring, which comes standard with all-wheel drive, front-wheel drive is still a choice in lower grades. With the new inclusion of hill descent control, AWD also offers regular, eco, and snow driving modes. The Sport mode is also available on the Sport and Sport Touring versions. The current crossover gets 28/34/20 mpg in the city, on the highway, and combined. The 1.5-liter turbo versions are likely to get the same, but the Sport and Sport Touring should do better than the 40/35/38 mpg of the 2024 CR-V Hybrid, thanks to the new hybrid system.
2024 Honda CR-V Date and Price
The cost of the 2024 Honda CR-V has not been disclosed, but Honda has assured exceptional value. It must remain steadfast if it wants to outsell the Toyota RAV4, which has an MSRP range of around $27,000 to $38,000. Expect a slight price rise over the existing CR-V because these costs closely resemble the current model. Although the hybrid vehicles won’t go on sale until a bit later in the year, Honda claims the 2024 CR-V will go on sale this summer when it is shown in July 2024.
