2024 Honda Clarity Colors, Changes, Price – The Honda Clarity is another eco-friendly car produced by a Japanese automaker. It has two variants: a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and a hydrogen fuel cell model. We are interested in the hydrogen fuel cell, which operates with the assistance of an electric motor driven by hydrogen fuel cell technology. It means that one only needs to fill the hydrogen tank, and hydrogen will then be used to produce electricity, which will power the electric powertrain. This technology liberates the user from waiting for the battery to charge.
The Honda Clarity emits clean, environmentally-friendly emissions; however, the hydrogen fuel cell type is only available in California due to the state’s superior hydrogen storage infrastructure. There are reports that Honda may abandon the Clarity fuel cell in 2021, and Honda has not confirmed the 2024 Honda Clarity. Nonetheless, it would not undergo significant alterations if Honda were to produce the 2024 model. The current model goes up against other green sedans like the Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell and the Hyundai Nexo.

2024 Honda Clarity Redesigned.
The exterior of the Clarity Fuel Cell is relatively unremarkable for a vehicle with such a blatantly eco-friendly mindset and ultra-advanced technology. It shares the typical Honda-like sedan profile with the now-discontinued Clarity Electric and Plug-in Hybrid and a slightly sporty aesthetic embodied by its angular front grille and sleek contoured hood, rearward swooping contours, and a coupe-like roofline, all of which are completed by its integrated decklid spoiler. Standard exterior features include sharp LED headlights, L-shaped LED daytime running lights, and 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels.
The exterior can be painted with one of five hues. Three options are free: Solar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. The remaining paints are available in Crimson Pearl or Platinum White Pearl at $395. Other than cost, there are no application limits.

Interior
The interior of the Clarity is created in the classic Honda manner, with a combination of soft materials, lighter hues, and a two-tone appearance to create an upscale and well-coordinated atmosphere. Although there is not much to discuss, the arrangement is pretty straightforward. While a giant touchscreen dominates the center of the dashboard for the infotainment system, there are quite a few buttons to mess with below. The cabin is significant, and five people could easily sit here without feeling cramped. The front seats are incredibly spacious and comfy, although they may be too low for some. The comfort level is ideal, and you can stretch out quite a bit due to the ample space. In 2024, the Clarity will remain unchanged.
Due to the presence of a hydrogen fuel tank in the trunk, it consumes quite a bit of space, and while 11.8 cubic feet is not a particularly small amount of space, you’ll need to do a bit of space planning before embarking on your journey. The hydrogen tank is beneath the rear seats, making them slightly taller than the front seats, which is good if you ask us. Moreover, the rear seats are spacious, allowing three people to sit comfortably and without constraint.

Engine
Under the unconventional exterior of 2024, Honda Clarity Fuel Cell sits a futuristic piece of cutting-edge technology. A 103 kW, 33-liter Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell transforms hydrogen intelligently into pure water and energy. A single-speed direct-drive transmission transmits power to the front wheels of the Clarity. This is then routed to a single AC electric motor with an output of 174 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque; these figures are not particularly impressive. While the FWD Clarity’s performance is enhanced by brisk and instantaneous electrified torque off the line and throughout the low-speed range, after 60 mph, the powertrain’s motivation gradually diminishes. Although merging and beginning overtaking highway actions are still passable, motorway performance deteriorates drastically. However, our favorite feature is the low-end city usability, which combines the advantages of an electric engine with the cleanliness of hydrogen. The Clarity Fuel Cell has no towing capabilities like many other electric vehicles.
The primary allure of the new Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is its eco-friendly attitude and relative efficiency in comparison to the gas economy of conventionally-powered vehicles, which it can provide in addition to the benefit of conveniently fast refilling periods. In contrast, a conventional EV can take hours to charge and frequently lacks a usable range. The EPA equates the Clarity Fuel Cell’s city/highway/combined mileage to 68/67/68 MPGe, which is pretty impressive compared to the Hyundai Nexo’s city/highway/combined mileage of 65/58/61 mpg. Nonetheless, the new Toyota Mirai XLE performs admirably with values of 76/71/74 MPGe. In addition to the fuel cell, the Clarity is equipped with a 1.7kW lithium-ion battery, which, in conjunction with its 5.46 kg (12 lb) fuel tank capacity, gives the Clarity Fuel Cell an outstanding 360-mile range. In contrast, the Toyota Mirai offers a range of up to 402 miles.
2024 Honda Clarity Price and Release Date
The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell does not have a cash price because it can only be leased. Additionally, it is currently exclusively offered at certain California dealerships. After making an initial deposit of $2,878, a monthly payment of $379 is required for the next 36 months. However, Honda sweetens the bargain by providing up to three years or $15,000 worth of free hydrogen fuel. In addition, as an emission-free vehicle, the Clarity Fuel Cell qualifies for California’s clean vehicle incentive of up to $4,500 and the state’s HOV lane rights. The new Toyota Mirai is one of Honda’s most formidable competitors; the Mirai starts at $49,500 in the United States. The Honda Clarity release date has been scheduled for summer 2024 in the USA.
